As I was reminded by English Heritage on Twitter about ten minutes ago, today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Worcester, 1651, where the future Charles II was defeated by the Parliamentarian forces, and was forced to flee to France. It's a story that has fascinated me since I first heard it as a child, with lots of intrigue and stuff. Here's a record, anyway, of my tour through the footsteps of Charles II back in 1651, as he made it through the countryside, from Boscobel House, to White Ladies Priory, and finally on to Moseley Old Hall.
It's not the actual tree Charles is supposed to have spent the night in...
So there you have it, my trip of six years ago!
